Accreditation

Welcome to the Monroe County School District Accreditation general information site.  This site will provide the MCSD staff and community an opportunity to become more familiar with the AdvancED and Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement (SACS CASI), District Accreditation. SACS-CASI District Accreditation is the highest level of accreditation that a school system can receive from the SACS CASI organization.
Through this traditional method of accrediting schools, individual schools are reviewed for accreditation eligibility, with the district's central office staff playing a limited but important role.  Currently, the Monroe County School District is seeking District Accreditation. The process for District accreditation began in the Fall of 2013 and will be completed in April of 2014.

District Accreditation, as a quality assurance process, will validate MCSD's outstanding accomplishments.  We invite you to review the information on this website and become familiar with the process of quality assurance and learn more about Monroe County Public Schools.

What does accreditation mean for our students:
Students gain greater access to federal loans, scholarships, military programs and colleges.
